A Lifecolor paint set for the subject of the Italian railways. A palette for motive power, cars, railroad buildings and the scene around the track.
Responsibility details are not available.
Another of the Lifecolor paint sets devoted to the Italian railways. The line has several of them and each covers a different section of the subject, which is why the composition of the shades is stated on the box. The set gives the modeler a palette that holds together, without having to look for the individual shades across different lines.
On a layout a color is judged differently than on a single model. A vehicle is assessed in comparison with the car next to it, with the building behind it and with the rest of the scene, so differing tones from different sources strike the eye at once. The set removes this discord. It comes into its own on motive power and cars, on railroad infrastructure such as goods sheds, ramps and signal boxes, and on the small things around the track. It can be used outside a layout too, for instance on a diorama with an industrial siding or on a single model of a car for a display case.
Stir the paint before work, otherwise settled pigment will stay at the bottom and the shade will not be right. Degrease the model and spray in thin layers, because the side of a car is a large area and one heavy coat easily ripples on it. Finish the lettering and the lines with a brush rather, but adjust the paint for it by thinning, because thick paint leaves marks behind a brush. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
For railroad modelers who build Italian subjects and for builders of layouts looking for a ready palette for the subject. The models, the glue and the thinner are not included, unless stated otherwise.
