A wooden deck with a masking template and photo-etched parts for a model of the battleship Yamato from the Fujimi 421605 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yamato was built in strict secrecy at the yard at Kure and entered service at the end of 1941. The Imperial Japanese Navy made her the flagship of its main force, but she took almost no part in major gunnery actions and she was sunk in April 1945 on the way to Okinawa. What attracts modelers to her is the massive silhouette with the pagoda superstructure and the extensive wooden deck, which takes up most of the area visible from above.
Everything is cut to the Fujimi kit with the catalog number 421605, so the outlines of the parts match that one.
Work in the order that makes sense: first lay all the parts down dry and check how they seat, then stick the masking template on and only then spray the paint. Once the paint has dried, the wooden deck comes next; rid the surface beneath it of dust and grease and press it down from the center out to the edges, so that it does not buckle. You do not have to paint it, as it carries a grain of its own. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp blade right at the part, sand the remains of the tab away, make the bends on the edge of a ruler or in a bending tool and glue with cyanoacrylate glue in small doses.
The set is for builders who want the deck of the Yamato made of wood and at the same time to solve the masking and the fine details out of one package. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
