Hexagonal imitations of rivets and bolts from the Japanese brand Top Studio, 0.7 mm in diameter and in a golden brass finish. This is not a model kit but accessory detail parts fitted to a car or motorcycle model under construction. The number in the name gives the diameter of the rivet head, not the scale, so the set is not tied to one particular kit.
Seven tenths of a millimeter is the all-round middle of a range that covers 0.5 to 1.0 mm. Rivets this size work practically everywhere an ordinary bolt is visible on a real car: on body panels, on the quick-release fasteners and hinges of the hood, on engine covers, on the mounts of the fenders and headlights. The golden brass finish also suits places where you want to set the joints apart deliberately from the steel-silver parts around them.
Hex rivets come in three versions, A, B and C, with a different head shape. Version C is made in both a brass and a silver finish. The exact head geometry is not stated here. If you are building a model whose hardware should be uniform, buy all the sizes in one version, because the head shape differs between the ranges.
With riveting, regularity matters more than the head shape itself. Mark the spacing in advance with a soft pencil or with a strip of adhesive tape, which serves both as a ruler and as a stop. On curves and edges run the row along the shape of the part, not along a straight line, otherwise the rivets will visually drift. Pre-drill the holes with a micro drill bit, place the parts with tweezers and apply the glue with a wire. The brass finish can be left unpainted and simply fixed with semi-matte varnish.
