Heavy hexagonal rivets from the Japanese brand Top Studio, 0.9 mm in diameter and in a golden brass finish. This is neither a model nor a kit but accessory detail parts that a modeler fits to a car or motorcycle model already under construction. The number in the name is the diameter of the rivet head, not the scale of the model.
Nine tenths of a millimeter is among the heaviest sizes in a range that ends at 1.0 mm. Rivets this big suit massive structural joints and large scales: tube frame joints, engine feet and flanges, shock absorber anchorages, exhaust pipe mounts and roll cages. On an engine the golden brass finish works where you want to set the joints apart from the steel-silver parts around them, or to suggest brass and bronze fittings.
Top Studio hex rivets exist in three versions, A, B and C, which differ in the shape of the head. Version C is made in both a brass and a silver finish. The exact head shape of each version is shown on the box. If you combine several sizes on one model, stay with one version so that the hardware works as a single whole.
One size is usually not enough on a single model. The proven approach is to grade the sizes by how heavily the joint is loaded, that is, heavy rivets on the frame and engine and finer ones in the interior and on small panels. Pre-drill the hole for this diameter in two steps, starting with a smaller bit, or it will easily wander. Make sure the head seats on its whole face, and align the rotation of the hexagons before the glue sets. Apply the glue with a wire, not straight from the bottle.
