A model of the French Panhard 178 armored car in the variant with the turret designated CDM1, in 1:100 scale. A set for building a vehicle for a collection as well as for a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panhard 178 was a French four-wheeled armored car introduced in the 1930s as a reconnaissance and liaison machine for cavalry units. It was fast, decently armored for its day, and the crew had two driving positions in it, so reversing was not a makeshift solution but an ordinary way of moving back. The vehicle survives in several forms, which differ mainly in the turret; this item captures the variant with the turret designated CDM1.
Parts for building a model of the Panhard 178 in the form mentioned, in 1:100 scale. The list of parts and the sequence of the build are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The 1:100 scale is small: the whole vehicle comes out at just under five centimeters, so the set suits tabletop games and mass scenes rather than a display case with one large model.
Separate the small parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and work over a closed box, or a part lost in this scale will never be found. Sand the surplus material and the marks left by manufacture with fine sandpaper. Wash and degrease the whole thing before painting. Apply the paint in thin layers; in small scales a vehicle comes out better if the base shade is lightened a little and the shadows are added afterward with a darker glaze, because otherwise all the shapes merge into one surface.
Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
