The 1:100 Pz.Kpfw. 35R 731(f) German light tank is a kit of the captured French light tank under its German designation, 1:100 scale, from the manufacturer Zebranomodel.

The model captures the French light tank in the form in which it was listed in German records after 1940 under a captured-equipment designation with the suffix (f). This group of vehicles is a rewarding one for a collection: the same machine can be built in both the French and the German version, and the difference lies mainly in the finish and the markings. The kit in 1:100 scale is supplied unassembled and unpainted; check the composition of the package with the manufacturer.
The German side used the designation 35R 731(f) for captured examples of the French light infantry tank Renault R35. It was a small machine with a cast hull, a single-man turret and a crew of two, designed to accompany infantry, that is, with the emphasis on armor and not on speed. In German records these vehicles were used mainly for second-line tasks, in training and with garrison units; some chassis served for further conversions. The suffix (f) in the designation referred to the French origin of the equipment.
Captured equipment stands or falls on the finish. A proven procedure: first spray the original multicolor camouflage, let it dry and only then apply the later uniform shade over it. When you wear that through in places with a sanding sponge or by the hairspray technique, the older layer appears underneath and the vehicle gains a credible history. At a small scale it is better to paint the new markings in with a fine brush, as decals tend to be problematic on a rough surface. Finally add a dark wash in the seams and light dust on the running gear and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
