The 1:100 Pz.Kpfw. 38H 735(f) German light tank is a kit of the captured French Hotchkiss light tank under its German designation, 1:100 scale, from the manufacturer Zebranomodel.

The kit captures the Hotchkiss light tank in the form under which it was listed in German records after 1940. The model adds to an extensive range of small kits in 1:100 scale from which a whole unit can be built. Thanks to the small number of parts it is a build for one or two evenings, and the center of gravity of the work lies in painting. The composition of the package, the material and the number of parts are given in the instructions supplied with the kit.
Under the designation 38H 735(f) the German side listed captured examples of the French Hotchkiss light tank of the H38 and H39 series. The vehicle had a cast hull, a single-man turret and a crew of two and was conceived as a light accompanying tank. Compared with the older H35 series it received a more powerful engine and a modified rear, which improved its handling. In their later service the captured machines were used mainly for second-line and training tasks, and some chassis were converted into other carriers. The suffix (f) in the designation refers to the French origin.
The turret with its pronounced cast shape deserves to have its surface roughened before painting, otherwise it looks too smooth. The running gear of the Hotchkiss has small links and rollers, so work on it under a magnifier and glue it in small stages. Before you start painting, join the hull with the running gear dry and check that the vehicle stands level on all its wheels. Apply the paint in thin coats; repainted captured vehicles look good when the base shade is slightly uneven. Paint the markings in with a fine brush and unify the whole model with matte varnish, which keeps the small details legible.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
