Type 97 Te-Ke with the Type 97 machine gun is a kit of the Japanese tankette in 1:100 scale from the manufacturer Zebranomodel. It is the version with machine gun armament in the turret.

A sister variant of the same vehicle with a cannon exists as well, so watch which armament is in the name — the vehicles are otherwise the same. The number of parts and the material are stated on the box of the kit.
The Type 97 Te-Ke was among the smallest Japanese tracked vehicles of the Second World War. It arose as a reconnaissance and liaison vehicle with a crew of two; the commander worked the turret and the driver sat at the front. The machine gun version carried in the turret a weapon of the caliber matching the Japanese infantry machine guns of the day and was intended to fight unprotected infantry and for its own defense, not against armored vehicles. The vehicle was light, had a short wheelbase and good mobility over ground where larger tanks could not operate, which marked it out for use in the Far East and in Southeast Asia.
On so small a vehicle the key is not to swamp the surface with paint. Build the model, check the seams against the light and only then apply the base in two very thin coats. Leave the machine gun barrel until the end — it is the most exposed part and is easily bent or knocked off while handling. Deal with the painting from dark to light: spray the base shade darker, then lighten the upper surfaces slightly, so that the model gains the volume it lacks in 1:100. Markings and insignia are better suggested with a brush than with a decal, because in this scale a decal often exceeds the real dimension. Seal the model with matte varnish and add only a hint of dust on the tracks and in the wheel arches.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
