An injection-molded plastic kit of the Honda VFR800P police motorcycle in 1:12 scale from the Japanese company Fujimi. The parts are molded in white, which matches the typical form of the real machine, and the package holds decals for service markings. A figure of the rider is included as well, so the model can be built as a whole scene and not just as the machine on its own. The 1:12 scale is the standard for motorcycles and the finished model has a respectable size as well as a quantity of visible detail.
The Honda VFR800P is the service variant of the VFR800 sport touring motorcycle with a V4 engine. It differs from the civilian version above all in its equipment: beacons, widened side cases, protective frames, a siren and modified wiring. The bodywork is in white with service markings. Machines in this category are used for traffic patrol and escort duties, where the combination of performance, range and comfort for long shifts in the saddle comes in useful.
On a motorcycle the build splits into three areas: the frame with the engine, the running gear and the bodywork. Finish and join the frame and the engine before you fit the bodywork, otherwise you will no longer reach some places. Build the white bodywork up over a light primer and apply the paint in thin coats; white covers poorly and detail is easily lost in it. Lay down gloss varnish before the decals and overvarnish the decals once dry. Do not glue chrome and polished parts with thin cement for plastic; use cyanoacrylate glue, so that the surface finish is not damaged. Paint the figure separately and seat it on the finished machine only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
