A plastic kit of the twin-engine McDonnell Douglas DC-9 airliner in the -32 version, in 1:144 scale, finished in the colors of the United Nations. FLY is a Czech maker of short-run models. The package makes it possible to build a static model of this classic jet airliner.
The DC-9 was an American narrow-body airliner with a pair of jet engines mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage and a T-tail. The -32 version was one of the stretched variants of the -30 series, which were built in large numbers and served with airlines and state operators all over the world. The layout with rear-mounted engines gave a quiet cabin and good performance on shorter routes.
With a short-run kit expect to clean up the parts and dry-fit them. The smooth gloss surface of the fuselage benefits from a good primer, fine sanding and an airbrush. The white areas of a civilian finish are demanding in their evenness, so lay the paint down in thin coats. Fix the decals with a varnish compatible with the paint used.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
