Decals for the Li-2 Sunflower in 1:144 scale from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models. A waterslide sheet for a model of the twin-engine Li-2 airliner.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models for a model of the twin-engine Lisunov Li-2 airliner in 1:144 scale. The Sunflower marking is part of the name under which the manufacturer lists the sheet. The product is not a kit but an accessory for a model that you buy separately.
The Lisunov Li-2 is the Soviet license-built version of the American Douglas DC-3 airliner, adapted to Soviet production practice and to different standards. It is an all-metal low-wing monoplane with two radial engines and retractable tailwheel landing gear. After the Second World War the Li-2 became one of the pillars of civil transport in eastern Europe and served in Hungary as well, where it was among the first types on the postwar scheduled network. Given a long and varied operational career, the individual machines carried a whole range of different liveries and markings.
Varnish the base with gloss clear coat before the decals, otherwise the tiny designs in 1:144 scale will silver. Cut the decals out close to the artwork, carry them with tweezers or on the tip of a damp brush and soak the surplus water up once they are in place. At the transitions between the fuselage and the wing, or across the window bands, use a decal softener. Once everything has dried thoroughly, unify the surface according to the character of the livery; on aircraft with a polished metal finish a gloss or semi-matte varnish suits better than a markedly matte one.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
