Brengun 1:144 MiG-15 vacuum-formed canopy is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. It replaces the thick clear part from the box and clears up the view into the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A thin-walled clear canopy vacuum-drawn from film, intended for a model of the MiG-15 fighter in 1:144 scale. It is cut for one particular kit, the Attack Hobby one. It is not a model or a kit but a separate replacement part bought to go with a base model.
The MiG-15 is a Soviet single-seat jet fighter of the late 1940s with a swept wing and a centrifugal-flow jet engine. The cockpit has a short fixed windscreen and a rearward-sliding canopy with pronounced framing, whose cleanliness shows at once on a model in a small scale.
On a canopy made of thin film, masking does the greater part of the work. The surest procedure is to cut strips of masking tape with a scalpel along a steel ruler on a glass plate and to lay them on the frames one at a time, always pressing lightly with the tip of a toothpick. Before you start spraying, check the edges against the light; tape that has not bedded down shows immediately. The frames are sprayed first in the interior color and only then in the exterior finish, otherwise the wrong shade shows through from the inside. The cockpit has to be finished and varnished before the canopy goes on. It is glued with a colorless cement for glazing or with thin white glue, which does not fog it; super glue hazes the surface.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
