Aber 1:16 Tiger II Henschel Vol.4 – Armour for grilles is a photo-etched set of armor covers for the cooling grilles of a large scale model of the Tiger II tank with the Henschel turret.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched brass detail set from Aber in 1:16 scale for the Tiger II heavy tank in the version with the Henschel turret. The set reproduces the armor covers (protective plates) fitted over the cooling grilles of the engine compartment, which gave protection from shell splinters and fire from above. It is an accessory, not a tank kit.
The Tiger II (Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B, Königstiger) was a German heavy tank with the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun. The armor covers over the grilles on the engine deck were among the late changes to the vehicle; in 1:16 scale their thinness and shape are best caught in photo-etched metal.
Separate the parts from the fret, bend them exactly on a photo-etch bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer. An airbrush is recommended.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The kit of the tank, glues and paints are not included in the package.
