This is neither a model of a vehicle nor a figure but a resin accessory in its own right: a tank crew helmet in 1:16 scale. The number in the name distinguishes the individual variants within the range, which the manufacturer offers in several forms. A 1:16 scale is large, so the casting carries detail that would be lost in the smaller scales: the division of the shell, the straps and the inner lining.

Use

• The accessory is put on a figure's head, or used as an object in its own right, laid on the hull, on the turret, in a hatch, on a seat or on a box of equipment.
• Before painting, wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry; mold release residue would otherwise repel the paint.
• Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cut of the scalpel at a distance from the part and sand the remainder; never break resin.
• It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic does not hold on resin.
• Do the sanding wet and with your airways protected, as resin dust must not be inhaled.
• Prime it and only then paint. In a large scale, transitions between shades, a fine wash in the grooves and wear on the edges with a dry brush all come into their own.
