This is a standalone detailing accessory from the Japanese brand Top Studio, not a kit of a car. The set is intended for fitting a single assembly of a model: the termination of the electrical wiring on the engine, in the cockpit and on the frame of a racing car. The figure of 1.6 mm is the diameter of the connector, not the scale of the model; according to the name the set is intended for models in the range of 1:20 to 1:24.
Why change the connectors
Plastic kits usually have the routing of the wiring only suggested by a molded relief, or they do not have it at all. As soon as a modeler replaces the runs with wire or silicone tubing, they lack a credible termination. That is precisely where a brass connector comes into its own: it gives a run a clear beginning and end and the whole assembly starts to come across as a miniature of a real car, not as a plastic molding.
Degrease the metal parts before gluing and rid them of fine burrs, so that both paint and glue hold. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) applied in a minimal amount, ideally with the tip of a toothpick or a thin wire; an excess of glue runs into the surroundings and spoils the detail around it. It works well to assemble the run dry, check where it passes around the frame and the radiators, and only then glue it permanently. It is a good idea to treat brass with a primer for metal before painting. If you want to keep the metallic look, it is enough to fine-tune the connectors with a dark wash, which brings out the parting lines.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit. The kit, glue, paints and wiring are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
