1:16 Pz.Kpfw. I — running gear set from T-Rex Studio is a resin accessory for the large scale. It is not a kit but a replacement for the running gear parts in the Takom kit.

A set of cast resin parts that replaces the running gear of the German Pz.Kpfw. I light tank in 1:16 scale. In this scale the running gear is the most exposed part of the whole model — all of it is on show, it is not covered by fenders or side skirts, and the viewer looks at it from the side first. This is an accessory for the Takom kit, not a model of the vehicle.
Casting in a mold can manage detail that injection-molded plastic cannot in this scale — sharp edges, fine cast textures and the full rendering of shapes that simply are visible in a large scale. And it holds the other way round too: in 1:16 not even a small inaccuracy can be hidden, so both the quality of the casting and any carelessness in cleaning up stand out on the parts. The running gear of the Pz.Kpfw. I is structurally unusual in that the return rollers and the wheels are carried on an outer girder along the whole side of the vehicle, so fidelity of shape is particularly easy to see here.
First wash the parts in warm water with detergent to remove the remains of the mold release agent — paint will not hold on a greasy surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc; do not snap them. Sand wet and with respiratory protection; resin dust should not be breathed in. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); plastic cement has no effect on resin. Before gluing, assemble the parts dry and check the alignment — with running gear every deviation shows up in the model not standing straight. Resin appreciates a primer before painting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package. Check before ordering that it matches your particular kit.
