The figure captures a worker in working clothes at the moment of straightening up after work bent over and clutching the small of his back. It is not a kit of equipment, but a separate figural accessory for dioramas and vignettes in 1:24 scale. It is precisely such everyday, mildly humorous moments that give a scene a human dimension and set it apart from stiffly arranged figures.
It works best in construction and repair scenes: at a dug-up street, on a building site, by a mixer, in a yard, at a loading point or in a workshop. The pose is readable even from a distance, so the figure can be placed in the second plane of a scene as well, where it forms a counterweight to the figures that are actually working. It combines well with the other worker figures and with construction equipment in the same scale.
Clean the figure up and wash it before painting, so that the paint holds. Work from a thin base coat through the skin, where the shadows are created with thinned oils or a wash, up to the clothing. The expression of the face carries the action in this pose, so give the features time and shade them gently, in thin layers. Keep the overalls faded and lightly dusty at the knees, the elbows and the back, so that the clothing does not look new. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on fine castings super glue holds best.
