A plastic kit of the circuit Honda Civic of the EF9 generation modified to Group A rules, in the colors of the Idemitsu team from the 1991 season. The model in 1:24 scale is made by the Japanese brand Beemax, which specializes in the racing cars of the 1980s and 1990s.
The Honda Civic SiR of the EF9 generation was the first production Honda with the B16A engine — a sixteen-valve four-cylinder of 1.6 liters with the VTEC variable valve timing system. In the Japanese touring car championship the Group A Civics became the terror of their capacity class: a light body, a high-revving engine and an excellent chassis made them practically unbeatable machines. The car in the Idemitsu colors is among the best known forms of the racing Civic of that era.
Spray the body in the base shade according to the instructions, let it dry thoroughly and polish it — sponsor decals hold best on a smooth glossy surface. Lay them down with a softener and, once dry, fix the whole with clear varnish. On a racing car it also pays to spend time on the interior with the roll cage and on the detail of the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
