A detailed injection-molded plastic model of the Mercedes-Benz G230 off-road vehicle in fire service trim (Feuerwehr) in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The kit captures the rugged Geländewagen body together with the equipment of an emergency vehicle. The box holds rubber tires, additional equipment parts, color instructions and decals for several paint schemes.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G for Geländewagen, meaning off-road vehicle) was created in the 1970s in cooperation between Daimler-Benz and the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch. The G230 version was one of the commercially successful variants and became the basis for a whole range of special bodies, among them those for fire and rescue services. The combination of a sturdy ladder frame, permanent all-wheel drive and differential locks made it a reliable working and emergency vehicle.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and prime the body and the cab before painting. Spray the typical fire service paint with an airbrush in thin coats and lay the decals onto a gloss base. Fit the chrome and the clear parts (glazing, beacons) at the very end, ideally with cyanoacrylate or a special cement for clear parts, so that the clear plastic does not fog. Put the rubber tires on once the chassis is finished.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
