The Aoshima 1:24 plastic kit of the Nissan Skyline HT 2000 Turbo GT-E.S of 1981 captures the hardtop coupe of the C211 generation, one of the icons of the Japanese car scene at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s.

An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima in 1:24 scale. The real subject is the fifth generation Nissan Skyline in hardtop form, in the 2000 Turbo GT-E.S trim of the 1981 model year. The factory code KHGC211 designates precisely the two-door hardtop with a turbocharged two-liter six-cylinder engine. Aoshima has long devoted itself to Japanese cars of this period and its kits are much sought after among collectors of so-called kyusha (classic Japanese cars).
The Skyline of the C210 generation, nicknamed Japan in Japan, was produced from the second half of the 1970s and in 1980 it received a turbocharged variant of the inline six-cylinder engine. The turbocharger was a novelty in the Japan of the time that the authorities long did not permit, and Nissan was among the first makers to get one into a production car. The hardtop without a fixed pillar, the angular body, the four round taillights and the pronounced fender flares make this Skyline an easily recognizable icon. The GT-E.S version represented the better equipped trim aimed rather at a combination of sportiness and comfort.
An angular body of the early 1980s forgives fewer mistakes than rounded shapes - restore the edges and sharp lines carefully after filling by sanding on a hard surface. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin layers and cover it with a gloss clear coat. Build the interior completely before closing the body. The chrome strips and window frames are a pronounced feature on cars of this era - it is worth investing time in picking them out cleanly with chrome paint or foil. Apply the decals onto a gloss base so that the effect of a silver outline does not arise.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
