1:24 Schwabenland Army Officer Head Set - Front46 (5pcs)

Schwabenland Army Officer Head Set, Front46, 5 pieces, 1:24 scale (MAiM)

Five heads of officers of the fictional Schwabenland Army in 1:24 scale, part of the retro science fiction Front46 series from the manufacturer MAiM. The set is intended for modifying and individualizing figures and is supplied as unpainted castings to be cleaned up and painted.

Use in a build

The 1:24 scale is home to a whole range of figures and props of the Front46 series, from mechs to bunkers, and that is primarily where this set is aimed: a command figure with a distinctive face gives a scene a focus and a hierarchy. Five different heads let you vary a whole staff or crew the hatches of machines without the faces repeating. The set will also serve for converting figures in alternative subjects of your own, where standard heads are not enough.

Painting tips

Wash the castings, clean up the marks left by casting and apply a primer. In 1:24 scale a face is smaller than in the 1:16 range, yet it still offers room for full painting: work with layered acrylic skin tones and refine the transitions with oil glazes. Simplify the detail into a readable contrast of light and shadow, because in this scale it is the overall impression that counts, not microscopic detail. Match the headgear to the colors of the uniforms of your figures.
