Aviattic 1:32 four-color lozenge pattern for lower surfaces (factory shades) — a decal sheet with the lighter lower series of the German polygon camouflage from the First World War in rich factory colors.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Aviattic decal sheet in 1:32 scale carries full-width printing of the lighter lower series of the four-color polygon pattern with which the German air service covered the lower surfaces of wings and fuselages during the First World War. The factory fresh variant renders the shades rich and clean, as on new fabric.
Camouflage fabric existed in two tonal series: a darker one for the upper surfaces and a paler one for the lower ones, so that the machine would blend with the sky when seen from below. For complete covering of a model, therefore, combine this sheet with the upper sheet of the same color variant — the alignment of the two sets is immediately visible on a finished machine. Modelers often add the rib tapes over the joins between the strips, which draws the covering together visually. When ordering, therefore, think of both sets at once so that you are sure of the same color variant.
Cover the lower surfaces first — any small imperfections are less on show here and you will gain practice for the upper surfaces. A light gloss base will keep the shades clean; once dry, seal everything with varnish according to the chosen finish.
A decal sheet is an add-on to a model — the kit is not included in the package.
