A casting can hold a thinner profile and sharper edges, so once replaced the external stores look considerably more faithful.

The MiG-25BM is a specialized variant of the MiG-25 family intended for the suppression of ground-based air defenses. It differs from the reconnaissance and fighter versions in its equipment and in the make-up of its external stores, which is directly reflected in the shape and placement of the pylons — and that is exactly why the set is tied to a particular version rather than to the whole family. Building and painting tips

Wash the parts free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks with a saw; with thin pylons in particular it is important not to snap them. Sand the mating face for the wing so that it sits without a gap — otherwise resin separates easily from plastic. Super glue will secure the joint, and on larger parts reinforcing with a wire pin set into a drilled hole can help. The pylons can be painted together with the model if you glue them on before the camouflage; if you fit them later, count on touching up. Check that both sides are symmetrical before the glue sets.
