A set of 3D-printed and pre-painted interior elements on decal paper for a model of the A-10C ground attack aircraft in 1:32 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not a kit of an aircraft or a set of parts to be glued but an accessory applied by the wet method like a decal. The elements have a real relief and color from the factory, so the work is shortened to preparing the surface and seating them precisely.
The A-10C is the upgraded form of the American single-seat ground attack aircraft known as the Thunderbolt II. The upgrade concerned above all the cockpit equipment, where multifunction displays were added and the controls concentrated on the control column and the throttle section. The layout of the pilot's area therefore differs visibly from the older A-10A version, and interior sets are made separately for the two forms.
With accessories of this kind the order of the steps decides. The interior is first assembled and sprayed with a base color, which has to cure thoroughly, because a decal laid on paint that has not dried may later wrinkle. Then comes gloss varnish, and only after that do the decal elements have their turn. If the set is combined with other accessories, such as masks or a resin seat, the resin parts are fitted first as a rule and the decals only onto finished surfaces. The element is cut off, briefly soaked in lukewarm water, slid into place, and the water is pressed out from beneath it by a soft brush or a cotton bud drawing from the center. A decal softener has no place in the procedure, as it would attack the printed resin. No pressure is put on the relief. Once dry the whole interior is evened out with a matte varnish and only then is the cockpit closed up.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model of the aircraft. Check the match with your kit before buying. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
