The real subject

The BL755 is a British cluster bomb that carries, instead of one large charge, a larger number of small submunitions; these are released from the body after it is dropped. The weapon was among the typical armament of British combat airplanes of the second half of the Cold War, carried by the Harrier and the Jaguar for instance, and it also appears with foreign users of those machines.

What the set contains

Stores carried under a model are conspicuous, so it pays to spend time on seating them level and on a clean transition between colors.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully.
• Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting and let them dry perfectly.
• Choose the base under the paint according to the glue and the paint used; a light primer coat helps the coverage.
• Fit the bombs onto the stores only once the model and the weapons are painted, and line them up dry.
• Make sure all four pieces hang in the same position relative to the center line of the airplane.
