The English Electric Lightning was a British supersonic fighter. The set of wheels aims at the F.Mk.1 and F.Mk.2 versions, that is the early form, and the shape of the wheels designated in the name as the early type matches that. In the large 1:32 scale the landing gear is clearly visible, so it is there that the difference between the out-of-the-box and the replacement parts shows most.
These are replacement wheels with tires that have the load suggested, that is flattening where they touch the ground. The number of pieces and the division of the parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
What matters most is the position of the wheel: the flattened part of the tire has to point downwards toward the ground, otherwise the model looks as if it were hovering. Before gluing, therefore, stand the model on a flat board and try the position dry. Cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the parts, choose the glue according to the material and go by the manufacturer's instructions. Paint the hubs and the tires separately and run the boundary between them with masking or careful brush work.
The set is for modelers who are building the Lightning in its early form and want to give it a credibly loaded landing gear. The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
