Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fighter biplane Polikarpov I-153 Chaika in the large 1:32 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. This form carries the markings of the aircraft of the Chinese Kuomintang, which put the machine into action against Japanese aircraft. The package contains clear parts and decals; the large scale lets the detail of the cockpit and of the engine come out. Check the exact contents of the package against this item.
The I-153 Chaika (Seagull) was the last and most refined fighter biplane of the designer N. N. Polikarpov. Its characteristic features were the cranked gull upper wing and, unusually for its day, a retractable landing gear. It was powered by an M-62 radial engine and armed with four ShKAS machine guns. Besides the Soviet Air Force it was used by other countries as well; in China it was flown at the end of the 1930s against superior Japanese numbers.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. Finish the cockpit and the radial engine before closing up the fuselage. On a biplane take care over the exact seating of the struts and add the bracing wires after painting; in the large 1:32 scale the effect is pronounced. The retractable landing gear and its bays deserve careful cleaning up and painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
