A combination of masking sheets and two turned muzzles for a model of the final version of the German fighter in the large scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
On a finished model the type of weapon is given away by the shape of the opening. A machine gun barrel has a small diameter, a thick wall and tends to be seen as a thin ring with a dark center. A cannon muzzle is wide by comparison and its wall is thin in relation to the diameter, so the opening looks almost like a tube. And if the weapon fired through the axis of the propeller spinner, there is no barrel there at all, only a circular opening in the middle of the spinner, which on a plastic part tends to be merely suggested by a dimple.
This set deals with the first of those cases. Two turned muzzles correspond to the machine guns of 13 mm caliber which the machine had mounted in the engine cowling and fired between the propeller blades through synchronization gear. The diameter is so small that drilling a plastic part is an almost certain route to a crack, whereas a metal part has its bore ready and its wall stays thin even after painting.
The enclosed sheets cover the glazing from the outside as well as the inside, and two insignia shapes belong to them. The target is the kit from the Hasegawa brand. The recommended procedure: first spray the inner color of the frames, then mask from the outside and only at the end do the camouflage. In the large scale it pays to thin the paint more than usual and to apply it in three thin passes, because the edge of the mask then does not draw itself into the surface. Let the last coat dry back to matte and only then take the shapes off.
