A turned metal replacement pitot tube in 1:32 scale from the MASTER company, intended for a model of the Soviet jet fighter MiG-21bis (NATO reporting name Fishbed L/N). It is not a kit and not a model of the aircraft, but an accurate replacement part that takes the place of the soft and easily damaged plastic piece from the original kit. The turned metal tube is finer, perfectly straight and far more resistant to bending and breaking off.
The pitot tube senses air pressure on an aircraft for measuring speed, and on the nose of the MiG-21 it is a striking feature that juts far out. On models it is a thin protruding part that often breaks or warps in plastic. The metal replacement from MASTER gives the model a fine, scale-accurate detail and is markedly stronger.
Cut off the original plastic part and widen the hole with a fine drill. Glue the metal tube in with cyanoacrylate or a small drop of two-part epoxy. Degrease the part before painting and go over it with a primer for metal so that the paint holds.
This is a replacement detail part, not a model kit. Paints, glue and the model of the aircraft are not included in the package.
