A set of wheels for the Spitfire in 1:144 scale is a resin accessory from the manufacturer Brengun. According to the name it contains three types of tires and hubs, so it covers various variants of this fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set, not an aircraft kit. It replaces the main landing gear wheels of a plastic Spitfire model in 1:144 scale. According to the name there are three types of tires and hubs in the package, which matches the fact that several wheel renderings were used during the production and the service of this fighter. You can therefore choose the variant corresponding to the particular aircraft you are building.
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter that was produced from the end of the 1930s into the postwar years and went through a series of versions with progressively more powerful engines. Its main landing gear retracted outward into the wing, and the wheels are among the details that differed between individual production runs. The differences lay in the rendering of the hub, that is in the number and shape of the cut-outs, and in the pattern of the tire tread. It is often precisely by the wheels that an early and a late machine can be told apart in photographs.
Before building, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release from the mold stays on the surface. Cut off the casting blocks; they usually run along the inner side of the hub or along the contact surface of the tire. Glue with cyanoacrylate; plastic cement does not work on resin. Do not paint the tire pure black; a dark gray shade with a fine lightening on the tread suits it better. The hub often differs in color from the tire, and the easiest way to a sharp transition is a circular mask or a patient brush.
This is a supplementary set, not a complete kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
