Minneapolis-Moline MT-40 Tow Tractor (USAF, US ARMY, CIV.) in 1:32 scale is a resin set from Aerobonus. It is an airfield tow tractor in the land-based form, not a model of an aircraft.

A set of castings in modeling resin from which you build an American airfield tow tractor in the form used by ground units and in civil operation. It is not a kit of an aircraft nor part of one: it is a separate accessory for completing a scene, whether that is towing an aircraft across the ramp, ground handling at an airfield or a static diorama. In the large 1:32 scale the tractor shows well beside a model aircraft and gives a display case both a sense of scale and a story.
Minneapolis-Moline supplied the American armed forces with small wheeled tractors derived from agricultural machinery. The MT-40 type served to tow aircraft, to move carts with equipment and for support work at airfields. In design terms it was a low and deliberately heavy machine: weight relative to its size was the key, so that the wheels kept traction when pulling away with an aircraft many times heavier behind them. The same or very similar machines found use in civil operation at airports and in industry after their military service ended.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that the remains of the mold release agent disappear. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc rather than with nippers. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), because cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. Spray a primer, then the paint; airfield equipment is rewarding precisely because of wear, and worn edges, oil traces, dust on the wheels and a dusty underside will make the tractor convincing. The civil form takes stronger colors than the military one.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
