The 1:32 North American F-100F Super Sabre etched seat harness in the STEEL version from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the missing or coarse belts on the seats of the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of seat harnesses for the ejection seats of the 1:32 two-seat Super Sabre model from the Czech company Eduard. The STEEL designation in the name refers to the steel version of the etching. Compared with brass, steel is springier and can be shaped more convincingly into a freely hanging strap, which is exactly what seats call for.
The F-100F is the two-seat version of the North American F-100 Super Sabre with the crew seated in tandem. Both seats are ejection seats and both have a multi-point harness. On the real aircraft the belts are made of fabric webbing with metal buckles and fittings; on a model they are usually either left out of the plastic altogether or suggested only as a flat relief.
First separate the steel belts carefully from the fret on a hard surface and degrease them. Shape them gradually: press the belt against a softer surface, for instance a rubber eraser, with a round toothpick or the rounded end of your tweezers, and form a smooth sag. Avoid sharp kinks, they look unnatural. The surest way to attach them to the seat is a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied on the tip of a wire. If you are painting bare metal belts, start with primer, otherwise the paint flakes off during bending; painted parts from the set, by contrast, are left in their original finish and only knocked back with a matte coat.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints have to be bought separately, unless stated otherwise.
