Two masks for the national insignia of the Pfalz D.IIIa in 1:32 complemented by metal barrels. The glazing of the aircraft was a single pane, so the set contains no cockpit mask.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pfalz D.IIIa came from the Bavarian works and differed from its German contemporaries in the technology of the fuselage. That was wound from thin spruce strips onto a form and glued into a shell, so the result was smooth, strong and easy to repair. The D.IIIa version received a stronger engine, a reworked lower wingtip and the weapons moved higher so that the pilot could reach them when a round jammed.
The question of whether the canopy is sliding or hinged makes no sense on this generation, because no canopy exists. Transparent surfaces appear only where the pilot really needed them, that is in front of his face. If a kit contains such a part at all, it is one flat pane which can simply be covered with tape. The vinyl masks in the set are therefore intended elsewhere, for the crosses of the wings and the fuselage, and there are two of them.
Strips of vinyl take even a slight bend over the rounded side of the fuselage, so they can be laid on a non-flat surface too. Spray the paint in light coats, otherwise a ridge will form under the edge of the mask which stays palpable after it is lifted off. The metal tubes are fitted at the end and the preservative oil is wiped off them before gluing, otherwise neither paint nor glue will take.
