HGW – a photo-etched interior set for the Roland D.VIb in 1:32 scale. Brass photo-etched parts for a faithful fitting out of the cockpit of the German First World War fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket set of brass photo-etched parts from HGW intended for detailing the interior of the plastic model of the German fighter L.F.G. Roland D.VIb in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that replaces and completes the elements of the cockpit that cannot be captured faithfully in injection molded plastic – the instrument panel, the seat, the controls and the frame structure.
The Roland D.VIb was a single-seat fighter with a distinctive fuselage built using the Klinkerrumpf technique – of overlapping narrow spruce strips, so that the fuselage resembled a boat. The D.VIb version differed from the D.VIa in its power unit; it was driven by the Benz Bz.IIIa inline six. The German army deployed the aircraft at the end of the war.
Separate the fine photo-etched parts from the fret, bend them along the scored lines and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Painting the wooden and metal elements of the cockpit is easier before the final assembly.
The aircraft kit itself is not included in the package. Glue, paints and tools are not enclosed.
