A set of four resin SUU-7 dispensers in 1:32 scale. The SUU-7 is an American carried dispenser for scatterable submunitions, made up of a bundle of lengthwise tubes enclosed in an aerodynamic body with stabilizing surfaces at the rear. Two configurations are distinguished; this item is type 1. Exactly how the types differ in the casting is not stated here.
A package of four is aimed at a multiple load, where the airplane carries dispensers under the wing as well as under the fuselage. With a repeated part it is consistency of shape that is essential: if four pieces are assembled from plastic halves, each comes out slightly different and the difference is visible from behind. A resin version delivers every piece in one shape with sharp edges and cleanly cast transitions between the body and the stabilizers.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the faces level wet, otherwise the dispensers will not sit parallel to the pylon. Check the exact parallel alignment of all four pieces dry before gluing; a model rests on its symmetry. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally with a wire pin. Painting: a primer, a uniform body shade, then the dividing and assembly lines picked out with a thin wash and gentle weathering around the mounting lugs.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
