Armament for Tiger I (Late model) is a detail set of turned metal barrels in 1:35 scale from the Polish brand Aber, intended for plastic kits of the Tiger I tank in its late form.

A detail add-on set from the Polish manufacturer Aber focused on the armament of the German heavy tank Tiger I in its late production version. It is not a model of the tank but an upgrade set that replaces the plastic parts of the weapons with more exact metal components. Its basis is a turned barrel of the 8.8 cm gun with a multi-part muzzle brake, and the set is completed by metal machine gun barrels and a small photo-etched part. According to the manufacturer a color instruction sheet is included as well.
A plastic barrel tends to be split along its length, so a seam arises on it that has to be laboriously filled and sanded down. A turned metal barrel is seamless, perfectly straight and has the correct circular cross section, which on a long barrel is apparent at first sight. The multi-part muzzle brake moreover makes it possible to capture shapes and openings that cannot be produced in injection-molded plastic. The metal machine gun barrels then replace plastic parts with a blunt end.
First degrease the metal parts, ideally with alcohol, otherwise paint holds badly on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and on larger surfaces two-part epoxy glue helps. A primer intended for metal is necessary before painting, otherwise the shade rubs off during handling alone. Try the seating of the barrel in the turret dry, as on some kits the opening in the mantlet needs slight adjustment. Work carefully with the screwed or pressed muzzle brake, as small parts are easily lost.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model of the tank. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
