Brass photo-etched fenders for the Soviet KV-5 (Object 225) heavy tank 1:35 from Voyager Model. A brass photo-etched detail set to raise the fidelity of the model; it is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory. Intended for the Takom 2006 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Voyager Model is a specialized brass photo-etched set of fenders for a model of the Soviet KV-5 (Object 225) heavy tank in 1:35 scale. It replaces the thicker plastic fenders with thin brass photo-etch with a fine pattern and brackets, which markedly raises the scale fidelity of the outline of the vehicle. It is neither a complete kit nor a full detail set but a focused set of fenders. The target kit is the Takom 2006.
The KV-5 (Object 225) was a Soviet design project for a heavy, indeed superheavy tank of the Second World War that stayed at the design stage. On heavy vehicles the fenders are among the items on view, and in thin photo-etch they look more realistic than a thick plastic part.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife, make the bends over a bending tool or a metal ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, or with two-part epoxy. Degrease the parts before painting and lay down a primer for metal surfaces; it is best to spray the paint with an airbrush so that the fine detail does not get flooded. Fill the gap between the photo-etched part and the plastic with filler.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
