Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of a heavy transport trailer in 1:35 scale from Thunder Model. The set is aimed at the trailer itself; the towing vehicle is not the subject of this package. It therefore suits adding to a model of a heavy tractor or standing as a separate element of a diorama, for instance a scene of loading or repairing equipment behind the lines.
British Scammell heavy tractors served during the Second World War and after it to recover and transport armored equipment. A trailer with a so-called goose neck has a frame stepped down ahead of the front axle, thanks to which the load bed lies low above the road; a vehicle loaded onto it therefore comes up over short ramps and the whole rig stays able to pass under obstacles. The late form differs from the earlier one in details of construction and equipment.
Start with the frame and the running gear and keep checking that the assembly stands straight; on a long trailer a deviation shows at once. Fit the wheels only after the chassis has been painted, which saves you masking. When painting, match the shade with the tractor you will display the trailer with, otherwise the rig will look put together from different models. It pays to concentrate the patina on the load bed, the fenders and the underside of the frame, where wear, mud and dust arise; dry brushing will bring out the edges and the loading ramps.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
