A set of printed accessories from the maker ETA diorama. It is not a model and not a kit but miniature signs, warning boards and posters printed in 1:35 scale on a special paper with a fine surface. They serve to bring dioramas and display scenes to life that lack small graphics, and it is exactly those that give a scene its place and time.
A diorama often stops at the vehicles and the figures, but it is the lettering, the markings and the notices that decide whether a scene looks convincing. The printed accessories go onto a wall, a fence, a hut or a post and the scene gains its context at once. In paper form they have an advantage over decals in that a board can be self-supporting and stand freely on a prop.
The buffer zone in Cyprus, known as the Green Line, is a strip under the supervision of a United Nations peacekeeping mission that has separated the northern and southern parts of the island since the middle of the 1970s. It runs across the whole island and is typified by warning signs, bans on entry and photography and simple observation posts. The set brings this visual side into 1:35 scale.
Cut the items out with a sharp scalpel leaving a small margin and darken the edges with a pencil or dark paint, so that they do not shine as a white cut. Glue the paper with white (PVA) glue or a glue stick, as super glue often soaks through the print. For boards standing on a post, back the paper with thin plastic or card. Finished lettering can be aged lightly with a dry brush and pigments, but carefully and without water.
The set contains printed accessories, not a model and not figures. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
