Waterslide decals from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models for large models of the Mil Mi-17 transport helicopter in 1:35 scale. The sheet is not a kit: it holds decals only and serves to mark a model that is finished, painted and prepared with gloss clear coat.
The set brings markings for Mi-17 helicopters: national insignia and registration markings, numbers and supplementary lettering. The printing is done on a thin carrier film in good register, so even the small lettering stays legible and does not bleed. The sheet of schemes enclosed in the package shows how the individual designs are laid out; follow it, because the position of the lettering differs on machines of this family according to the production batch and the operator.
Helicopter models have a great many rounded surfaces, doors and grilles where a decal easily forms a bubble. Always varnish the base with gloss clear coat, cut the design out closely and after a brief soak in lukewarm water slide it onto the dampened place. Fine-tune the position with a soft brush, soak the surplus water up and lay a softener onto the shaped surfaces so that the film pulls into the detail. Once dry, go over the model with a matte or satin varnish, which looks truest on machines worn by service.
