A set of small fan grilles in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer MAiM gives the walls of bunkers, workshops and factory halls believable ventilation and turns a smooth surface into a living technical detail.

A diorama accessory: this is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but a set of small fan grilles meant for building into structures and scenery in 1:35 scale. It is precisely such small things that decide whether a wall on a diorama looks like a bare board or like a real building with technical services. It is supplied as an unpainted casting to be cleaned up and painted.
Small grilles suit anywhere machinery is meant to show: the ventilation openings of cellars and bunkers, the extraction of a workshop, a machine room or a garage, the side walls of industrial buildings or the scenery of modern urban scenes. They also work superbly in science fiction and post-apocalyptic vignettes, where a few grilles in a wall immediately evoke a hidden underground. Thanks to the 1:35 scale the set naturally fills out ordinary military vehicles and figures of the same size.
First free the casting of any casting marks and wash it in lukewarm soapy water so that the paint holds well. After a coat of primer, metallic shades suggest themselves: a base in dark gray, a light dry brush in a steel or aluminum color and brown-orange pigments for rust. A dark wash will nicely bring out the louvers of the grille; if you like, add traces of dust and grease around the edges, as if the ventilation had run for years without maintenance.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
