An Aber photo-etched detail set, fenders for models of the Panther Ausf. G tank and the Jagdpanther tank destroyer in 1:35 scale, replaces the plastic fenders with a thin metal version.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a vehicle model but a set of photo-etched brass parts from the Polish company Aber. The set is focused on the front and side fenders together with their mounts for models of the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf. G version and the Jagdpanther tank destroyer, which share the same chassis. The thin metal parts replace the thick-walled plastic fenders.
The Panther Ausf. G was the last mass production version of the German Panther medium tank of the Second World War, with the powerful 75 mm KwK 42 L/70 gun. The heavily armed Jagdpanther tank destroyer with an 88 mm gun was built on the same chassis. The fenders of both vehicles were often damaged or missing in action.
The fenders are cut from the fret, cleaned up and bent along the scored lines; a photo-etch bending tool helps. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The thin metal makes it possible to render even bent or missing parts faithfully for a battle-worn look. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it with a primer for metal.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
