1:35 Grant Mk.II is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive Eduard masks for painting the model of the British medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a model and not a photo-etched set but an aid to painting.

A masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It holds pre-cut self-adhesive masks, which are stuck onto the model before spraying and hold a sharp border between areas of different color. Do not confuse this item with the photo-etched set of the same name: here you are buying films for painting, not metal detail parts.
Grant is the British designation of the American M3 medium tank modified for the needs of the British army, among other things with a different turret. The vehicle carried its main gun in a right-hand sponson mounting in the hull and a second weapon in a rotating turret. Technically it was a transitional solution between the older designs and the later medium tanks with a full turret.
On armored vehicle models masks usually separate the small areas that are to stay in a different color from the hull, for example the rubber parts of the running gear, vision ports or headlights. The procedure is always the same: degrease the surface, position the mask with tweezers, press the edges down with a toothpick and apply the color in thin coats. With multicolor camouflage schemes it pays to work from the lightest shade to the darkest. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has dried, before the washes and the pigments go on, otherwise dust will get under the edge and the border will look smeared.
