Replacement exhaust pipes for models of the King Tiger tank and the Jagdtiger tank destroyer in 1:35 scale. An accessory to a kit, the manufacturer's part number A.MIG-8093.
Responsibility details are not available.
The King Tiger, in German Königstiger, was a German heavy tank of the closing stage of the Second World War. On the same chassis, only lengthened, the Jagdtiger was built, a heavy tank destroyer with a fixed superstructure in place of a rotating turret. That is exactly why both vehicles share the layout of the rear end, including the pair of exhaust pipes that rise up the rear wall of the hull and are usually fitted with protective shrouds. On these vehicles the rear end is very clearly visible on a model, and the exhausts are the first thing the eye finds there.
An exhaust pipe is a hollow tube, and on an injection-molded part it tends to be blanked off or split by a seam along its whole length. The replacement part comes finished and saves the builder the work of drilling, filling and straightening. How many pieces the package holds and which kits it is cut for is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer; so always test the fit dry and level the surface on the rear wall of the hull as needed. The A.MIG part number prefix belongs to the AMMO brand.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down carefully, so that the outline of the pipe is not damaged. Choose the glue according to the material of the part. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the finish will not hold. On a real vehicle the exhaust quickly became covered in rust and scale, so it pays to set it apart from the surrounding paintwork: a dark base, rust shades applied irregularly and finally a dry brush along the edges.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
