One sheet of self-adhesive masks for the wheels of the M10 tank destroyer in 1:35 scale, cut for the kit by AFV Club.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M10 came about by converting the Sherman chassis into lighter equipment meant for rapid movement against a tank breakthrough. It received sloped armor of thinner plates and, above all, an open pentagonal turret with a 3-inch gun, into which the rain fell and which protected the crew only from the front. The British rearmed the same machine with a gun of their own and gave it a different name. The chassis, though, kept the Sherman wheels with their rubber tires. Almost 7000 were built by the end of the war and many of them served out their lives with French units.
On vehicles with an open turret the build is usually led from the inside out, because the interior cannot be covered later. In that procedure the wheels are, on the contrary, an entirely separate branch: they are painted aside, on a pin, and joined to the model at the very end. That is exactly why the cutouts are worth using at the moment when the interior on the hull is drying and you need work that will not hold things up. Painting the wheels then runs alongside the long pauses for the interior to cure.
The white stars and numbers are applied to the finished paint of the hull and the turret, and the wheels are not concerned with them. Dust and mud come at the end and soften the transition between the disc and the rubber. If a tire is damaged while the track is being fitted, the spot can be covered again with a leftover cutout and sprayed over without taking the running gear apart.
A sheet of film with discs for the tires. The vehicle and paints are not part of the delivery and the shapes come from the subject named.
