The real subject

The M60A1 belongs to the American Patton family of tanks and was one of the main battle tanks of the Western armies during the Cold War. The version with add-on explosive reactive armor (ERA) carried blocks of additional armor on the hull and the turret that improved protection against shaped-charge warheads. The main armament was a gun of 105 mm caliber.

Building and painting tips

Assemble the running gear and the hull, then add the reactive armor blocks according to the instructions. Glue with thin cement for plastic, sand the joints down and use primer. The ERA blocks stand out when the edges are picked out and washes and pigments are used for dust and mud effects.
