Manhole covers in 1:35 scale as an accessory for a diorama. They are set into a roadway or a pavement and give the scene an urban character.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of manhole covers for building a diorama in 1:35 scale. It is an element of the base, not a part of a model. The covers belong among the small things that a viewer does not notice one by one, but whose absence is obvious: a flat road surface without them looks like a freshly cast slab.
They come into their own anywhere a scene shows a town or a village: a cobbled street, an asphalt roadway, a pavement by a house, a factory yard. They also work well where a scene is meant to lead the eye to the main element, because the pattern of a cover breaks up an unbroken surface and gives it scale. Builders of military and civilian scenes in 1:35 will welcome them.
A real cover aged in a street is neither black nor rusty, but somewhere in between. It pays to start with a dark gray shade, lighten that with a dry brush once it has dried and finally rub a dark wash into the recesses, so that the pattern stands out. A little dust and mud suits the joint around it, otherwise the cover will look freshly laid.
A set of accessories for a diorama is supplied. The base, the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
