An extensive decal set from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models for the Mi-24V attack helicopter in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit: it is a double decal sheet that combines the markings of the machine with an extended set of technical markings, the so-called stencils, spread over the whole airframe of the real helicopter.
The Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter combining heavy armament with a transport cabin for a squad, a concept with no equal among attack helicopters. The V version is among the most widespread: it carries guided anti-tank armament and a tandem cockpit with its prominent twin canopy. It is in 1:35 scale in particular that the quantity of small lettering and service markings that give a large model credibility comes out.
On a large model with dozens of stencils a systematic approach pays off: work by sections of the fuselage and check the position of the markings against documentation in advance. The decals belong on a glossy cured base, and a decal softener will bed them into the recesses. Once dry, fix everything with clear; only then do the washes and weathering follow, which visually tie the markings to the surface.
This is a decal accessory: the helicopter model itself is not included in the package.
