Modern City Set Vol. 1 is a set of diorama accessories in 1:35 scale from the brand MIG Productions, intended for building scenes in a modern urban setting. It is not a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a vehicle kit and not a figure, but a set of accessories for a diorama in 1:35 scale. It serves to build up the setting around a finished model, giving the scene urban elements thanks to which the vehicle does not stand on an empty board but in a believable space. The contents of the package, the number of parts, the dimensions and the material of the castings are stated on the box of the set, and it pays to look at it before ordering.
What gives a diorama its power to tell something is above all the setting. Urban elements in 1:35 scale are usually set on a base of extruded polystyrene or a wooden board, built up with textured paste, sand and static grass, and only then tied together with paint. The key is uniform light and a uniform degree of grime: if the vehicle is dusty and the surroundings clean, the scene falls apart. Paint the accessories at the same time as the model, then, and with the same palette.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry, so that the paint holds well. Cut any casting remnants off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces; protect your airways while sanding. Choose the glue to match the material of the parts: super glue based on cyanoacrylate for resin and hard castings, thin modeling cement for plastic. A thin coat of primer follows. Paint concrete, asphalt and render in gray and beige tones rather than anything else, and bring them to life with an uneven spray so that the surface does not read as uniform. Bring the depths out with a dark wash and the edges with a dry brush, and at the end add pigments for dust and deposits at the foot of the walls.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
