Responsibility details are not available.
A small accessory for building dioramas and display case scenes in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Js Work, from the range meant for outdoor environments. It is neither a model of equipment nor a kit but a casting in its own right of an ordinary street trash bin, which is simply placed in a scene and painted. It is exactly such civilian odds and ends that make urban and village scenes believable, because they fill the empty places by walls, entrances and yards.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry thoroughly, so that the paint holds well. Then apply a primer and the base shade. In reality a trash bin practically never looks clean, so it pays to work washes into the recesses, metal scuffs on the edges, rust around the bottom and the lid and dust on the lower part. Glue the part to the base of a diorama with cyanoacrylate glue or with model putty, which will also fill the gap at ground level.
A trash bin works best where it has a logical place, that is by the wall of a house, beside a gate, at a delivery entrance or in the corner of a yard. Placed at the edge of a building it gives a scene depth and suggests to the viewer the scale of the surrounding equipment and figures. Around the bin it is worth adding small untidiness, for example scattered rubbish, fallen leaves or a puddle, and the scene then reads as lived in rather than as a display case exhibit. An open or turned lid gives the whole some movement.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and the base of a diorama are not included in the package.
